"Hello all. I am the mum of a boy who had leukaemia twice and survived.
A small charity called Children's Leukaemia Society based in Cardiff supported our family at the most difficult of times. Now due to COVID-19 this tiny charity manned by a handful of volunteers is in a very precarious position. Through fundraising the charity can offer free holidays to families of children with any childhood cancer living in Wales in one of their caravans.
We have painstakingly fundraised for these caravans for many, many years, but now as we plan to hold our 1st AGM via zoom, our main topic is the need to sell one of our vans because we cannot afford the ground rent or the upkeep of the van due to the lack of funds raised.

Please DONATE as we are a Volunteer run charity with no paid staff. Our aim is to provide help and support not only for the children suffering with Cancer but also their families.
As a charity, we offer a 'Cheer up Gift' to children recieving treatment who have been diagnosed with leukaemia or any type of childhood Cancer up to the age of 18 years. We try to cheer them up and put a smile on their faces while they are having treatment which can be gruelling. We also provide respite breaks at our caravans in Kiln Park, Tenby so that children can have a much-needed break with their families following chemotherapy. Sometimes, this is the first opportunity the family has of spending quality time together away from a hospital environment.
These holidays are provided completely
FREE OF CHARGE.

“Our family was devastated by the news that our son had leukaemia and it was this amazing charity that cheered him up. It has a very place in our heart following Ben's death. It’s a small charity where all the money raised and donated goes to the child and only the child. Life is forever changed and this charity has helped us as a family to cope. Ben’s wish to go to the beach was immediately met by the Children’s Leukaemia Society by providing us with a caravan holiday in Tenby, they understood the importance of being together as a family and made it possible. When I said that Ben didn't need the gift I was told "every child irrespective of family background gets a gift, so Ben will get a gift". That is what was so special”
Our fundraising income disappeared overnight due to Covid-19 but children are still being diagnosed with leukaemia/cancer and we still want to continue to provide them all with a 'Cheer up Gift'.
