Children's Leukaemia Society
'The charity that cares'
About the Charity
The charity was established in February 1992 and also supports other childhood cancers. It is a small charity which is committee run. Most of the fundraising is done by volunteers.
The area covered is Wales and the West Country with most of the children we help coming through the Children's Hospital of Wales.
We provide a gift for the children whilst they are undergoing chemotherapy - usually this is in the form of ARGOS vouchers then the child can use to choose what they want themselves.
After treatment we provide a holiday for the child and their families. This holiday is completely free.
We also have a special circumstance gift which we give when requests come through the hospital (this is usually for a child that is terminally ill).
We have five holiday homes at Kiln Park in Tenby which all have double glazing, central heating and all the mod cons (none of these homes are over 5 years old).
Most of our donations are raised at local supermarkets by collection and we also sell badges. In recent years we have been fortunate enough to have been left as beneficiaries in wills. If you or your company would like to make a donation you can do so by clicking here. All donations are gratefully received.
The office is not manned for many hours a week but someone always checks the phone every day for any messages.
All accounts can be seen on charity commission site and minutes of meetings are available by request.
